Breastfeeding Peer Counseling

Breastfeeding is the most perfect infant food, offering significant advantages of new mothers and their infants.
In this program, for pregnant and breastfeeding women, peer counselors meet one-on-one to promote breastfeeding and help new moms successfully breastfeed their infants for as long as they wish.
Breastfeeding peer counseling services include:
- Breastfeeding information for pregnant women
- Encouragement and help for breastfeeding women
- Breast pumps for women who need them
- Support groups or group classes for pregnant and breastfeeding women
The program is available to women who meet
WIC eligibility and income requirements.
Breastfeeding peer counseling is available through the Family Health Council of Central PA’s WIC centers. For more information contact
